Psalm 62:1-2 1My soul find rest on God alone; my salvation comes from him. 2He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress I will never be shaken.”

Psalm 40:2b 2 ...he set my feet on a rock and give me afirm place to stand.”

Have you experienced or seen an earthquake happened on TV, how this mishap can damage an area once struck by it?

Most kids like riding a swing or a hammock, being shook, swung to and fro are really kinda’ fun for them. But this is not the kind of feeling you will get when an earthquake shakes a city.  You’ll notice it from the faces of those people who've experienced it, they’re all rattled, scared, confused, and worst wounded. And the aftermath damage is really devastating.

In our lives, a calamity like that of an earthquake can also happen to us in form of trials. It can make us rattled, scared, confused or wounded.  But David in his agony found peace in the presence of God, and the result? Security. Knowing that God is his fortress, a solid rock where he is standing on, a hiding place when being pursued by his enemies, and this is the reason why he can confidently say, “…I will never be shaken.”

We too, can depend on God when experiencing such plight. And as we put our trust in Him, He has His own way to help us in our catastrophic event in life... and we too, just like David can say, “I will never be shaken,” because you know that what you are standing on is a real solid rock—God.

What can you say about the people who have experienced a calamity in life? What makes them scared after this thing happened to them?

What do you do when you are facing trials?

What is the difference between standing on a rock from a soil or a sand?

As God being the rock upon your feet, can you really say, “I will never be shaken? Why?”
